This is part 2 in a 4 part series.
As I mentioned in Part 1 of our Summer Reads – 2019, while writing this series I quickly realized I needed to put boots on the ground in order to provide accurate “here and the now” reviews. My book devouring nieces were more than happy to lend a helping hand (or three).
In Part 1, Mattie (age 8) shared her review and recommendation for the Rise of the Earth Dragon, book #1 in the Dragon Masters Series. For Part 2 Sanna (age 11), reviewed Winterhouse by Ben Guterson for us.
By Ben Guterson
Sometimes you wish for things that don’t come true, otherwise they will.
Elizabeth has always wanted to be away from her aunt and uncle. One day they send her to Winterhouse. Elizabeth loves Winterhouse. There she meets her only friend, Freddy. She and Freddy are in for an adventure of a lifetime!
Things start getting weird at Winterhouse and Elizabeth becomes suspicious of the people there. One day in the library, she locates a special book of puzzles. As she figures the puzzles out, Elizabeth learns more about Winterhouse and herself.
I really liked this book and found lots of humor in it. This book had me reading chapter after chapter. I would recommend this book to other people who like mystery and humor.
There is one thing to be said, Ben Guterson beautifully wove this book into a fantastic story!
Sanna, age 11
This is book 1 in a 3 book series.
